"Beloved" Poetry Collection & Devotional
I have two goals with this series: One, I want to speak to more painful areas of love and marriage: forgiveness, aging together, death, and divorce. And two, I want to show the beauty and adventure of marriage, even in the mundane and difficult parts.
I think most of the poetry on love we see is written for new love. “Fear & Love & Falling” is my introductory poem to this series and the only poem of this series written for the new love stage. Most of the poetry of this series is written for couples in the middle of love (who have been married 3 - 7 -10 -25+ years.) There is a lot of scripture about God's love for us and his commands for us to love one another. There are some reflection questions, and writing prompts for both married and single folks.
I hope it’s edifying to individuals in all paths - single, dating, married, or after marriage has ended. I'm not sure if that's realistic, but I do know that every one of these paths points us to the gospel and the final wedding banquet between Christ and His Bride, the Church.
There are many poems that are not my own experience but written for friends and family. Some are celebratory, some are lament.
